The high price level of consumer goods and the housing market suggests that a wedding photographer in Zurich is more expensive than a service provider in other Swiss cities. But it is concern really justified?
Basically, there is no general answer to this question – already because many wedding photographers, who are active in Zurich, have their seat outside of the city. In other words, not everyone who describes himself as a “wedding photographer in Zurich” has his working place in the metropolis. Rather, it is common in the industry to travel from other parts of the country to Zurich and to look after marriages in photographs and cinematic films. This is also due to the fact that rents for photoateliers in the 400,000-inhabitant city are much higher than in the surrounding area. Against this background, the decision to settle down in another city and only come to Zurich to work is quite understandable.
A photo shoot in Zurich does not cost the world
Anyone who believes that a wedding photographer in Zurich costs two or three times as much as a colleague in Berne or Basel is deceived. There are indeed photographers who demand salted prices compared to other service providers. However, there are still plenty of picture-makers who can keep the tariffs for photoshootings and filming within tolerable limits. For a complete package, typically 3,500 to 5,000 CHF are due, whereby the services contained therein vary greatly from supplier to supplier. Still, one does not need to worry that one is dealing with prices that are beyond good and evil. When it is necessary, there is almost always a generous family member who can help the wedding couple.
