We write today about whether and why it is worth to make a professional wedding video. We also give tips on how to find the right videographer.
When we talk with bridal couples about their wedding photos, we sooner or later talk about wedding videos. The interest is in (almost) everyone – quite clear. Nevertheless, many couples are unsure whether they want the film recordings: some couples feel uncomfortable in front video cameras. It is an additional organizational point and obviously – also a cost factor because a production of a wedding video recquires a lot of time and effort.
Nevertheless, we spoke with so many couples and were there at countless weddings. Based on our experience, we basically say that a wedding video is very important.
Weddingfilms have become increasingly popular in recent years. On one hand, it is a trend that sweeps over from the USA. On the other hand, in recent years, the video feature has undergone a metamorphosis. While in the past you were linked to “wedding video” infinitely long VHS cassettes, which you have pulled with the remote control in your hands, the films are now produced in congenial quality. This provides decent entertaniment for you and your friends.
We provide you another 4 reasons why a wedding video is important:
- 1. Wedding films are a “new age privilege”
A wedding video in Hollywood style? It simply didn’t exist. What do you think; How many of our grandmothers would give their right arm to experience the day of their wedding once again: to see how young and beautiful they were once to see the moments that have already faded in their memories – a film captures moving pictures and Moments, voices, noises and speeches – not just moments.
- 2. Other angles, other experiences
It is impossible for you to know everything that happens on your wedding day. A wedding video delivers exactly these moments like: the rumbling of the boys when the groom is getting ready, the smile of the girls when the bride puts on her dress. Or the tension in front of the altar… how happy you both have looked at in your intimate moments… of course, photos also capture this moment, but moving images provide the emotions.
- 3. So young you only get together once
Your wedding is one of the few events in which your entire family and all your loved ones are united and can celebrate together. There will be a time in which simply no more are all there – a wedding video not only makes moments, but also people live up.
That is why we are always present from the beginning on the wedding day. For us, “making a wedding video” means that we produce a lot of picture material. Whether we later take it into the video – but only a video managers to reproduce sounds and individual events as exactly as they have happened. Imagine a funny breakdown when dressing the wedding dress, of course, this is not in the vide purely, but the memorial value of such a moment years later is invaluable.
That is why it is important not only to hand over the complete film, but also the entire video material raw; Thus including all speeches and tha various show inserts. This – together with the highlight film and the photos – gives a truly round picture of the wedding.

It is possible that not all of your invited guests can come – whether there are distances or illnesses that prevent a journey – a video makes it possible that the absent persons are present (almost). A bride told us that se would never forget the splendor in the eyes of her grandmother, who could not come to the wedding because of her age. When she described us about the joy and pride of her grandmother, even we old foxes were moved!

Good Videographers pay attention to… whatever you want!
There are countless really excellent videographers in Switzerland, with completely different styles: Emotional, cinematic, Vintage inspired or modern and chic. But just like photography, your style and your desires are the first priority. You spend a lot of money on your wedding video, so the Filmcrew should also consist of absolute professionals. They make sure that your video makes a smile in your face and maybe even one or two tears will drop…
When you select a team, it is an advantage to select a photo and video team from a single source. These people can work together perfectly. At a wedding, it is mostly the same places and angles, which are photographers and videographers looking for – so it can be a problem if people do not know each other.
If you decide for a wedding video, we recommentd (as with the photos) a first E-session. So you can get used to the cameras and relax on your big day. As soon as you as a bridal couple no longer percieve us as videographers, we make everything right. You know how easy you can be cramped or unnaturally when a camera is around – professional Cameramen note this in every situation and give you the free space, which you need.
We offer the bride and groom several film options: “The Wedding Film”, a complete movie of 20-30 minutes, cinematically constructed with music, a lot of original sound and in chronological order. Then we also offer “The Highlights” – a kind of music clip about 3-5 minutes, which shows the best moments. These two are the typical options, of course, we can also respond to other requests, for example filming full-lenght ceremonies.
For a large wedding film of 20-30 minutes, it recommends two videographers, for a film with the highlights one person can be enough.
