Brides reveal: This is what we would have done differently at our wedding
“I thought at the time that it would be a great idea. But today I regret it” Nina tells us. She talks about giving her parents, who have been divorced for years, the opportunity to choose their own place instead of sitting together at the family table. The father took his ease and sat down five tables away. “That was strange, but on that day I did not notice it.” The small, burning stab came only when the family sat together at the wedding of the little brother. Nina has celebrated the wedding so she wanted it but it was not perfect. “We should say goodbye to the” perfect “idea” says her friend Natasha, “but I think that most couples would make a difference later, whether they admit it or not.”
With this opinion most of the women are not alone. A survey conducted in 2014 found that of 1,000 brides, 82 percent indicated that they would have done at least one thing differently if they had had the chance: some would have chosen another dress and most would have kept the speeches shorter.
What information would couples like to have had before the wedding?
-
1. Delegate, delegate, delegate
“The day is passing by so quickly. I wish I had not given myself such a stress, and given the sceptre out of my hand. I should have looked after one or two people with tasks” says a bride. Live the moment, enjoy your day. Most couples worry so much that the day is perfect, that they do not perceive the small and beautiful heart moments as such. Even if the day is not quite as planned, you should go down a course and relax. Delegates as much as possible.

2. The wedding dress
Almost every bride with experience tells us: You are only two days in your life a Princess: When you buy your dress, and when you give your heart man the “I do”. Why do you only search the Internet? Go to the bridal outfit store and let yourself be pampered when choosing the dress. There are many professional wedding dress shops in Switzerland. Invite your best girlfriends, spend a day in the shop and have a good time in beautiful dresses. Moreover, bridal designers know exactly what looks good on you and what is just in fashion. The advice is worth it.
Another tip from our bride Natasha: I wore my dress for 18 hours. I felt it was much too cumbersome. “Of course I did not notice that at the bridal shop. There I liked the missing straps and the narrow lacing. The reality was different. Too narrow, too heavy, and every walk to the toilet became an act of strength. “

3. The wedding photographer
No question: Without the most beautiful photos, nothing goes on at the day of the wedding. We mention it in the blog in a few posts: Look for photographers who fits you in every question, choose the ones who are on the same wavelength. You want quality and the picture style that suits you. Experienced wedding photographers with many years of experience know exactly how they have to put you into the scene so that the pictures become exactly as you want it.
Therefore: Take your time and look for the right wedding photographer. And when you find it, do not compromise on the quality.

4. The pictures
“I wish I had taken more pictures with my family. We have only two or three family pictures, which show me with my parents in the picture, and there are all uncles, aunts and grandparents as well. Today I would prepare a list of all the people and the kind of pictures I would like them to have. I’d rather have a picture with my mother” Nina says.
Tip: Plan your wish pictures in advance and give the list to your wedding photographer.

5. The wedding vehicle
riding a carriage – is that still a good thing today? In our opinion, it was not as modern as it was a few years ago. Although it is immensely romantic, to arrive on such a day at the location. You got a princess dress? Go for it, pumpkin shape and everything. Your wedding is sleek and modern? Then fulfill your dream, but please in style with a hipster coachman, cubist coach and black horses. Then it fits into the picture.
Tip of our bride Sarah: “I would have taken a vehicle in vintage chic afterwards. A classic Vespa or the hippie VW bus. That would have looked great in the photos. “

6. Decoration
“I wish I’d added something to the decoration” Nina tells us. Her faux pas: She has not discussed in advance with the operator of the location. The result looked confused rather than awe-inspiring “aahs” and “oohhhs” score. The decoration felt the bridal couple as somewhat impersonal, the elements not entirely to their taste.
“We just did not think about talking to our service providers. Now, however, I know that many locations take over the design of the rooms, but are open to any wishes.” Take advantage of this fact and create your dream location.
Can you imagine the same after your wedding? And what do our married couples say today – would you like something changed? Send us your comments, we want to know that.
